I made a lot of dumb choices in my youth in regards to never really going on dates. Someone I knew would just be like, "wanna date?" and I would feel bad to say no and convince myself I could give them a chance. Then I would be in a committed relationship until they usually broke with me or cheated and left.
Turns out I just never had a word for asexual growing up and that would have solved so many things for me to have the concepts we can talk about now.
I am likely to chuck my shoe at the next person to so much as infer that I just haven't met the right person yet, though.

I am more understanding & less ruthless with folks who own their ableism & are willing to work at being comrades with disabled folks.
