Are you running a server on the Fediverse, either Mastodon or some other type?
Would you like it to be listed on the human-curated server directory at https://fedi.garden/fedi-gardens-full-server-list ?
Is it compatible with all seven points at https://fedi.garden/about-this-site ?
If the answer to all these is yes, please message my other account at:

Let me know a little bit about your server in your message, or send a link to your About page 🙂

p.s. Just to make clear what this list is for:
This isn't a list of all the hashtags people should use, because most of them are obvious and don't need a guide. Something like #Gardening is obvious and there's no need for anyone to tell you about it.
The point of this list is for unusual tags which aren't obvious. Things like #LichenSubscribe or #Florespondence aren't tags you could guess the existence of, you would have to be told about them. That's the point of this list.
p.p.s. To make even clearer: this is NOT a list of important hashtags, it's just a list of widely-used tags that people might not know about because they're spelt in a weird way or they use a difficult-to-guess arbitrary phrase or portmanteau.
I'm just doing this to help people discover tags they might not discover otherwise. It's NOT meant to be some list of significant or cool things or anything like that.
Most hashtags are pretty obvious, you just put # in front of a topic. For example if a post is about coffee it might have the tag #Coffee
However, many popular hashtags have difficult-to-guess names, so I've started a list to help people discover them:
➡
️ https://fedi.tips/fun-and-useful-hashtags-to-follow-on-mastodon-and-the-wider-fediverse
Copy-paste a hashtag into the search box in Mastodon if you want to browse or follow it.
If you have suggestions for non-obvious hashtags that should be added to the list, let me know in the replies 🙂

In case you missed it, the Fedi.Garden website is now designed to make it as easy as possible to choose a reliable server on Mastodon and the wider Fediverse:
https://fedi.garden
The new design takes people to a selection that they feel comfortable with:
- If you find choice overwhelming, it shows you one good general server (which is regularly rotated to spread the growth)
- If you enjoy choice, it shows the full directory of good servers sorted into categories
#FediTips
Are there certain accounts you particularly enjoy, and you don't want to miss any of their posts?
You can make sure you notice all their posts by clicking the 🔔
bell icon on their profile page. (If you can't see a bell, log in through your server's website and click their profile bell that way.)
Their posts will all appear in your timeline as usual, but you will also get notifications about their posts too. More info and questions answered in the guide:

#FediTips
Do you want Mastodon to automatically hide certain kinds of posts?
Or do you want Mastodon to automatically place certain kinds of posts behind a content warning that you can click open?
You can do both of these things by using Mastodon's filters feature. Filters lets you automatically hide posts with particular words, phrases, hashtags, links or emoji in them. More info on how to create and use filters in the guide at:

If you're looking for accounts to follow, you might like to check out my other account FediFollows:
➡
️ @FediFollows@social.growyourown.services
It regularly posts themed lists of good accounts to follow, and it also has a website with thousands of recommended accounts sorted into topics:
➡
️ https://fedi.directory
To follow an account listed on the website, copy-paste the "Fediverse address" on its listing into the search box in Mastodon and then click "Follow".

There is a lot going on in the world right now, and it may be overwhelming at times. If you want to follow the news but you also need some way of taking mental health breaks, Mastodon's "Lists" feature might help.
Lists lets you move the accounts you follow into several separate timelines. You could for example create a "News" timeline and a "Non-News" timeline, then switch between them when you want to.
