I'm thinking to make a canopy bedΒΉ, not because it looks "luxurious" but to keep the sleeping volume warmer without the need of heating the whole home, even the spider nests in the corners.

And during the summer we can replace the thick cold-proof curtains with mosquito nets: a win-win idea!

Expenses will be covered by savings on heating.

Now I must persuade my wife…

Screw a couple of curtain tracks to the ceiling and you got yourself an enclosed space

@GustavinoBevilacqua@mastodon.cisti.org In my youth, when I was an avid medievalist and would camp in a luxurious tent, I had a bed like this to attempt to keep warm on the cold nights. It worked well. Would have been better with a second body to keep the small space warmer ;-)

One reason canopy beds and bed curtains went out of style is the flammability of the textiles.

Asbestos curtains… what could go wrong?
