I'm thinking to make a canopy bed¹, not because it looks "luxurious" but to keep the sleeping volume warmer without the need of heating the whole home, even the spider nests in the corners.
And during the summer we can replace the thick cold-proof curtains with mosquito nets: a win-win idea!
Expenses will be covered by savings on heating.
Now I must persuade my wife…

@GustavinoBevilacqua@mastodon.cisti.org In my youth, when I was an avid medievalist and would camp in a luxurious tent, I had a bed like this to attempt to keep warm on the cold nights. It worked well. Would have been better with a second body to keep the small space warmer ;-)
