Trump wants from Congress a "long-term" extension to his authority to federalize the DC police. It's what dictators do. There's no rationale for it. He just wants it to parade his power and dominance.

It's also a trial balloon for how to obtain similar authority to use the military in whatever cities and against whatever civilians - Democrats - irritate him.

Marjorie Taylor Greene entered the House of Representatives in January 2021 with a net worth of about $700K, pretty decent, but low by congressional standards.

Her current net worth is apparently about $22 million. How does a public employee, on about a $175K annual salary, do that, let alone in 4 1/2 years?
