Still in "Proof of concept" of an #Amiga OS3 #Audacity rewrite with a #BOOPSI interface, with hardcore layouts... Went through an unimaginable loaf of problems, BOOPSI is ok i you have 3 buttons or just a list... else face doom. Well, that's my interest: let's really make something with it. .. yet guess what ? It looks like I'm finnaly having a stable state with most problematic things resolved (using my own scroll method, with sub layout in it). "Why don't you port WxWidget and auda. ?" Because Wx has, the worst code I've ever seen, and audacity is just a frontend for linux audio libs (no interest). it'll be a frontEnd for Amiga stuffs in 100kb.

Also, one could say: "Why not use the very popular and robust and mature #AmigaMUI interface API" ? ... because it actually offer no public SDK to extends your own gadget classes or layouts ! There have been "really few" new MUI classes released over the years, apprently by a "secret society" of people allowing themselves to do that (or really, point me.). The current official way to create a MUI class with special rendering as far as I know, is actually... to create a BOOPSI gadget, then embbed it with the MUI BOOPSI wrapper Coding with the more low level BOOPSI, you may not have "cascading preferences" and all, but you control what happens at low level.

@VictoriaFerryRetroGeek@piaille.fr I remember that at the time an alternative to MUI called Feelin came out, it was aesthetically pleasing but I don't know if anyone ever used it, maybe it's time to dust it off 🙂🙂
