Also, one could say: "Why not use the very popular and robust and mature #AmigaMUI interface API" ? ... because it actually offer no public SDK to extends your own gadget classes or layouts ! There have been "really few" new MUI classes released over the years, apprently by a "secret society" of people allowing themselves to do that (or really, point me.). The current official way to create a MUI class with special rendering as far as I know, is actually... to create a BOOPSI gadget, then embbed it with the MUI BOOPSI wrapper Coding with the more low level BOOPSI, you may not have "cascading preferences" and all, but you control what happens at low level.

@VictoriaFerryRetroGeek@piaille.fr I remember that at the time an alternative to MUI called Feelin came out, it was aesthetically pleasing but I don't know if anyone ever used it, maybe it's time to dust it off 🙂
