I can't find any other details in my email history.

From what I recall: you could text it commands, including /help for info. There was a whole website about how it worked (maybe github?),detailing commands, exclusions, etc. Maybe it was an individual project. But I can't seem to find a link now.

And if you get the admin address from the alt text, that account has a pinned post pointing to his more current account. If anyone wants to ask him about this! (Though, not sure if he's the creator of the tool, or just used the tool to create this bot.)

I think it is boosting posts with that hashtag which are visible to it on its home server, but there is no way it can detect hashtags from remote accounts which its server hasn't noticed yet.

So, doing group mentions is a bit clearer and surer because you know it goes to everyone in the group.

It did follow back anyone who followed it. But yeah, other than that it was just what it could see.

My sense is that because it followed back so many accounts across diverse servers, it ended up seeing a large span of servers and posts in English.

Its coverage of posts in other languages was not as good even though it wasn’t exclusively set to English that I could see. I saw a fair number of German posts boosted but almost none in French.

My main concern with a bot that boosts hashtags is people may think they just need to post the hashtag to post to the group. If they're aware that they need to mention the group then that isn't a problem of course 🙂🙂
