I’ve been an advocate of deleting the code of Alexa & Siri and replacing them with an LLM but this is easier said than done. The unreliability of an LLM contrasts with the expectations people have for these digital assistants.
Alexa+ ignored alarm cancellation requests, hallucinated shopping recommendations, and delivered incorrect information when reviewed by @nytimes@mediastodon.com . Ouch.
