@Satori@mastodon.thirring.org Just finished deadheading so it's looking a bit empty, but lots of buds about to pop. We're in this horrible drought and heatwave, so it's a challenge to keep flowers and veg happy. Lake water, no restrictions, but we don't water the grass, which is mainly clover so resilient.

It definitely does feel a lot different this year. We had some really hot weather in the spring, and we've had a few brief runs of 35C weather since, but in general it's been much cooler than the last 5 years. We've also had far more rain than we have over that period.
I can't tell if this year is actually an outlier, or is just normal that feels weird because the last few years have been hot and dry - actual drought conditions.
The prairies are a weird and wonderful place.
