A nice article on a library providing a study space for Year 12 students

Worthwhile mentioning that libraries are funded by local councils. So this is beyond the reach of the councils who's residents would most benefit from a study space away from home.

Also note the similar role of university libraries, as they don't check for a student identity card. Unfortunately universities can't allow under 18yo students to use their free international 'eduroam' wifi, which is frankly ridiculous and the result of shortsighted decisions by both Commonwealth and state governments.

@glent@aus.social so how to under 18 students use the WiFi and why is the eduroam SSID "special" in the government's eyes?

Hotspot on the phone.
Often, the public WiFi sucks.
I once metered it at 9600kbps.

I studied at the library for my exams.

To this day, when I
really need to focus. I go to the library, even through I have workspace at home.
My brain is wired to be hyper focused in a library setting.
