The calculations are very much back of the envelope, first cut, but quite feasible. A 32billion parameters, frontier level performance compatable open source #llm model. The power requirements is that of 3AC units including cooling. Serves 15-20 concurrent users. 40 households of 4 people each (taking into account actual AI model distributed use metrics and contention ratios)
40 households, subscribing at $30/month over 2 years + power (solar). Train with your own datasets. Entire set up takes half a rack.

We can still go for a jog or go hunt our own deer, but for reaching the stars we, the Apes do what Apes do best: Use tools to build on our cognitive abilities. AI is a tool.

This is a photo of my Aunt. She was captured in a street ambush by #nazis (not unlike #ice) and sent to a concentration camp where she got tuberculosis. She was taken in by a #sweden#philanthropy Count who helped victims of #fascism in #Europe. (This photo is from Sweden where she regained body mass) Unfortunately, tuberculosis killed her. I never got to meet her 😑

I live on a route where they take chickens to death camps. Huge trucks filled with yellow cages full of plump 6 week old chickens. They come back the same route, with empty cages. I always notice them. Say a quiet notice of guilty respect and apology in my head for the chickens. Doesn't make it right. I blame the demiurge for creating this infinite loop of suffering. I eat meat 😭 #vegetarian
I take it all back... #lutris fail the install... I had to fcuk with runners. Then Lutris wasn't happy because I had to install the runner manually...
... I ended up installing #HeroicLauncher which is apparently the less problematic launcher for #wow on #Linux. But I still had to scout the net for the appropriate install procedure.
Linux Gaming is so far from click and forget, it's not for the non-geeks...
... Still it's better than how we had to install windows games on Linux in the olden days, with copper pots, tinctures and hand woven electron wicks.

Now I have to buy a bigger SSD because it turns out 256GB is good enough for a workhorse, but entirely inadequate for a games laptop 🙄
