I don't know if it's working as expected, but if I use the Apple iCloud+ feature Private Relay, the Mastodon advanced web interface (the multi-column one), will frequently have one or more columns with the Mastodon logo character banging against an object saying something is wrong. Even if I choose to show IP address or reduce content protections, that is not enough.

As soon as I disabled Private Relay, it goes away straightaway. I was hoping to have the online protections.

If you have other privacy-related software installed (firewalls, Safari extensions, etc.) there may be some conflict with Private Relay.

@Alrescha@mastodon.social I only have two Safari extensions running: Remove Web Limits to allow pasting where the designer blocks you, and AdGuard. I'll do some experimenting.

I thought maybe Private Relay was breaking some fundamental assumptions on port ranges or IP addresses with the advanced web interface, where it opened multiple simultaneous streams.
