I don't know why everyone is so surprised Pikachu about the defcon thing but I think it's bc I always assumed that convention was about government/military/"defense contracting" uses of hacking already due to the name and it wasn't until I saw all this umbrage that I thought "or I guess…maybe it wasn't named after that??"

Reminds me of a conversation I had some time ago about how I'm sure a lot of people engage with cyberpunk media and walk away even more excited for that future...
