An Ontario woman who was visiting a friend in Florida was hospitalized for two weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest, and while she had travel medical insurance, she was shocked to learn that a year later, her claim was denied and sheβs on the hook for more than $290,000.
I am so sorry for this poor woman and the predicament she is in.
I hope she can just ignore the bill and never come to America again.

Her ambulance ride alone from home to the rural Band-Aid and boo boo hospital 15 miles away was $2200, and her second ambulance ride to the university hospital, less than 20 minutes later, by road not air 75 miles, was $12,000.
