With my Parkinson's, I only do follow backs at certain times, & usually in bulk

What this does is increase my timeline activity &my old-timers, people I followed for a long time, and interact with, get lost in the new hustle and bustle of the timeline

I try to break it down to lists, so, If I haven't interacted this could be why. Send me a mention or a ping and I'll get you sorted to the correct placement in my Fediverse world

#HappyNewYear. This is the 4th New Year I've entered with the #Fediverse. It really feels like a town square or community center, just like social media is supposed to be like, imo.

Being homebound, when I log on to the Fediverse, it is me "going to town." I go with you to your concerts, I hike with you, walk the forests, read your poems and essays, and "feel" your cats purr. I expand my knowledge, learn different languages and cultures, and share in your hopes and distresses.

There's too many to @ and reply to with specific messages, and I appreciate that problem, so Happy New Year to all.

Ford hits the pedal on EV production with $2 billion overhaul of Kentucky plant

Ford Motor Co. will invest nearly $2 billion retooling a Kentucky factory to produce electric vehicles that it says will be more affordable, more profitable to build and will outcompete rival models.

The automakers top executive unveiled the new EV strategy at Fords Louisville Assembly Plant which, after producing gas-powered vehicles for 70 years, will be converted to manufacture electric vehicles.

Ohio LGBTQ+ advocates have been approved to start collecting signatures to put marriage equality and equal rights protections for race, sex, pregnancy status, sexual orientation, disability or other attributes on the ballot.

Currently, for same sex marriage, Ohio follows federal law, specifically, SCOTUS's Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, and for discrimination by state and local governments because of race, sex, pregnancy status, sexual orientation, disability or other attributes, follows others rulings, which can change when the court's partisan majority changes, like with Roe v Wade.

On Friday, Attorney General Dave Yost certified two separate constitutional amendment proposals: one would remove a provision from the state Constitution that prohibits same-sex marriage, and the other would prohibit discrimination by state and local governments because of race, sex, pregnancy status, sexual orientation, disability or other attributes. #Ohio #LGBTQ

As I communicate with many people from different regions of the world, I try to remember when I get a reply that may sting, often it is not arrogance or rudeness but cultural differences in communication styles. It also helps to remember that certain phrases, meanings, intent of language, from one country means something different in another so it may be on the OP author to reply back with something about their intent, kind of a translation, instead of getting angry or applying stereotypical labels.

I am human, and sometimes that is hard, but I try to remember that and give the benefit of the doubt.

I'm starting to hate computing and the Internet so much because of AI, misinformation, etc, I'm going to have to pull my 486 in from the garage, hookup my Lexmark printer find a newsgroup and see if I can get some of the spark back for computing... Might have to go back further to my IBM PC AT and a dot matrix printer and BBS. It's really bumming me out.

I hope people have enough common sense to stop spending and buying products and goods at inflated prices due to the #tariffs.

Once the companies see we will pay the prices, they will never be lowered back down when the tariff dam breaks to where the prices should be because companies see we are dumb enough to buy what we can live without or don't "need" at higher prices.. #USPol #Economy

Right now, companies need to be seeing we are only buying necessary staple items and that is all. A couple months like that and then they will force a change.
