@kibcol1049@mstdn.social Yeah, I can see that as a novelty, but until there is a liveable, guaranteed income, I couldnβt support that. I still havenβt used a self checkout. I guess I fear that folk participating in this arenβt thinking of their futures, as a number of billionaires have already been expressing their angst at having to pay liveable wages, with decent working conditions.

@CStamp@mastodon.social @kibcol1049@mstdn.social thing about Japan is that they're one example of what a functional society looks like. Murikkka is nowhere near this. So we're over here worrying about self checkout lanes becoming sentient and not being paid livable wages, while they are already working on giving their people being displaced by robots meaningful and paid jobs to keep them afloat.
