I think the Distillery District is the only pedestrian-only area in Toronto, at least of which I'm aware. It's a charming historic area, with wonderful shops that range from chocolate to coffee to furniture, some pubs and restaurants, sculptures, fargo trucks... It can get crowded, probably more so since the condos have been finished, but it's worth a wander.
This is a merge of two images, exposing for the clock and the scene.

With outdoor photography, you can only plan. What you get is completely at the whim of Mother Nature. We were staying with a friend about 20 min from Peggy's Cove, NS. We wanted sunrise images at Peggy's Cove, so got up before sunrise, left under clear skies, and drove into fog so thick we could barely see. Peggy's Cove was a whiteout. But we wandered about and after sunrise, the fog began to lift. We didn't get magic light, but magic was still there.

A reminder to remind your less informed friends and family that Israel is not the Jewish religion.
So tired of seeing vandalism of synagogues here because Israel, the country, that doesnβt represent the Jewish religion, is committing atrocities.
Jewish people are also appalled. Find other ways to speak against Israel.
Someone on TikTok kept having her videos flagged for using the offensive word βhoe.β She was using it when talking about her gardening. This is why humans are still necessary.
I guess the scariest part of population decline is that men and religions have lost control of women.
Maybe our population will settle into something more sustainable for the planet and end up a better place.
Quality over quantity.
Average fires are 4-5 hours but can last 24 hrs.
Common reasons for the fires: Overcharging, High ambient temperatures.
So plugging your car in over night is a problems? The cars don't know when to shut down before something "runs away?"
As for high, ambient temperatures, climate change is a thing. Not much control over that, so if you're driving at 40C, will there be an alert if the car is about to go zowy?

I guess now I should look up how many gas cars blow up at gas stations or on hot days. And whatever the equivalent of that runaway thermal thing is. π
Anyway, this is the article. I wish articles like this were better written. It's "EV cars are as safe as or safer than ICE, but here are all the scary things that may make it go boom, which make them sound not so safe."

I'm sure different sites will vary a bit, but ok. A lot fewer EVs.
"Thermal runaway within the battery is one of the most common causes of electric car fires." Later on, it mentions that this runaway is responsible for 60% of the EV fires.
Holy Hannah, that sounds terrifying. How does one keep that from happening?
"Around 18% of EV fires occur while the car is plugged in and charging, but the percentage could be as high as 30%." Well that adds stress to a fill up. π

LOL. My mother was ranting about scary EVs that catch fire. They do. But so do gas cars, the press just doesn't cover those unless there is a lot of property damage or maybe a death.
I found this page, which, if you're going to present facts, do better.
"Less than 1% of all car fires are electric vehicles." Meaningless without factoring in the numbers of EV vs ICE. The site is UK: one source says EVs make up 4.75% of the cars. Later on, it mentions US, and a source estimates 9.2%.

Itβs the anniversary of Robin Williamβs death. This was a rare celebrity death that hit me like a punch. Someone who created so much laughter in the world, seemed so bright, seemed to have been beloved by those who knew him leaving us that way? Then learning of all the real things he was struggling with.
The world was better for having him, I hope he found the peace he deserves.
And remember that smiles around you may be masking a lot of pain.
There is no reason to give your kids raw milk unless you hate them. :)

We really need to get away from this 'natural is best.' Salmonella is natural. So are many, many 100% natural things. Nature is as happy to kill us as nurture us.
Soβ¦the worldβs oldest baby has been born. π
A woman had 4 embryos created with IVF 30 yrs ago, used one successfully, always wanted more kids, her husband differed, they eventually divorced & she won custody of the embryos. She kept paying storage fees in hopes of a new husband, never happened, storage got expensive, then she hit menopause, so donated them to embryo adoption agency, where one was adopted & successfully brought to term.
