New #Introduction - I'm Alex, a Gen X British Asian who lives in a suburb of #Ipswich #Suffolk #England near the border with #Essex - my day job is IT and electronics engineer in health/social care, hobbies/interests are #radio (broadcasting and communications/ham - I volunteer at the local community radio station, #photography, #nature, European #music, #transport, #infrastructure and affordable European/Asian #cars (but I am not a petrolhead and appreciate the environmental impact of cars) >>

now y'all can finally see what I look like (hope no one is too scare) 😆
I am sitting on the stairs of my house on two pillows (as it was only reasonable looking background) with the phone at arms length or the front camera "adds weight"
My hair is probably too long and untidy but at my age I'm glad to still have it 😆
took ages to get a OK one and had to avoid falling down the stairs..
comments/boosts OK (I doubt anyone is going to want to flirt with this "old uncle")
#MetPol seized 72 luxury #cars and made multiple #arrests for road #traffic #offences as part of a crackdown on anti-social #driving in the centre of #London (they seem to do this every year, to some extent a PR exercise especially as they can brag about "getting tough on foreigners" (as many of the drivers of these cars seem to be from outside the UK)

Taken from "90s #rave scene" group on FB - and this is why, as much as I had fun then, I don't want to go back to those days that much - too many folk preyed on one another, robbing #car stereos, alloy wheels (and sometimes whole entire vehicles!) to fund their own partying (on the same group some middle aged man is unrepentantly admitting to having committed such thefts!).
Also outside of London and similar cities there was a lot of #CarDependency and #DUI was rampant - the only reason the casualty count wasn't noticed is the roads in 1990s were less safe (even with fewer #cars around) so the consequences of drug driving were masked by a heavy level of "normal" #collisions (and less #forensic investigation into the cause of #crashes)
Whats most worrying here is I'm fairly sure #UEA specialises in biological sciences, you would have thought the students would know this (and also how to identify the edible chestnuts, which you can eat)
