We have biscuits at work, the problem is I eat them all so I end up having to buy more to replace them to stop people thinking I'm a fat git, but then I eat them all again, it's a vicious cycle. Yesterday I even bought one packet for the office and one for me. I ate them both.

@fesshole@mastodon.social The key is finding that point where you can resist most easily. Buying them is the first place to try stopping, because if you have them you'll just eat them. If you don't have them, you can't.
Don't go shopping when hungry. Go shopping when you have no desire to eat.
People struggle to see this.

Another approach is to make a shopping list before entering the supermarket, and then resolve to buy nothing except what's on the list. That way, you don't wander aimlessly up and down the shop, thinking "What shall I have for dinner on Monday? Ooh, look, it's the biscuit aisle."

What about the biscuits at work? You could try taking in a healthier snack and hope that you don't end up eating that
and the biscuits. For that to work, the snack needs to be filling. A satsuma won't do the job; a handful of unsalted nuts just might.
