I /kind of/ get it. I think Will considered Thom the V1 model, and inferior to V3.5. Of course, that doesn't account for the V1 parts that were necessary to have V3.5. Like the split Kirk or B'elanna. Both are needed for the whole, and old Riker is just as important as new Riker. In any case, he didn't have to be such a dick about it :^D

I should record myself some time, and hear what I sound like. I heard a recording once, and thought "Wow, I kind of sound like a hillbilly" :^D
I have a weird trait, where I quickly pickup the accent of people I'm around. I've caught myself doing it, where I started using Irishisms around Irish. Talk about something a shrink would have fun digging into...

Maybe he's just a psycho. If you can't empathize with your literal self, who can you empathize with?!
I'd feel pretty bad if I led a fairly good life, and found I had an exact me left on a shitty planet to fend for my/his self. I'd do my best to try to send some coolness his way.
