I’m a middle-aged geek & #StarTrek fan.
Trek helped define who I am. After discovering TNG in my early teens, Captain Picard became my role model & the crew became my extended family (more about this later)

I’m a tech geek, which explains why #TWiT was my gateway to Mastodon. I’ve been a gamer since the 80s & I especially love #Nintendo

I have strong progressive beliefs which I sometimes share here, but I’m also here for some of the lighter posts & to connect with others

Tonight, during dinner, I pointed to the peas on my wife’s plate and said, “I want to take those and pour them on the dirt outside.”

She looked confused and asked me why.

I said “because I always wanted to see peas on earth.”

She laughed her ass off.

And 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 is why I married her.

When I was a kid, I was 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 into Ghostbusters (thanks to The Real Ghostbusters cartoon).

Before getting the official ghost trap toy, I used an old Atari 2600 controller. I opened it up, removed the joystick, and put it back together without the joystick.

When busting ghosts, I’d slide the trap (the joystick-less controller) across the floor & step on the pedal (the plug at the end of the controller’s cable) to activate the trap.

Good times.
