I'm doing it again!

For the next few weeks, I will talk to anyone who wants to talk to me for 30 min. I didn't have a fun pun for it last year but now I'm calling it
#PennePals

Do you want to be my penne pal?

Starting a thread about my life with Cookie, while she’s in intensive care right now in San Francisco. She’s still conscious, but it’s not looking great. Even if she gets to come home I think it’s time to prepare to say goodbye to her.

1. This was the very first time I saw her.

I was 24 years old. I’d just moved to Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. With the first serious girlfriend I had. We thought it’d be a great idea to get a dog.

I took a pic of the moment I saw Cookie in Damansara Uptown

My wife @sabcatsilver@sfba.social, a psychology student, created a card game that helps therapists (and people) talk about grief, end of life care, and perspectives on life.

I am soooooo proud of her!! Currently it’s a prototype for class, but she may publish it in the future. Thanks to folks who helped on Mastodon! We got it printed on GameCrafter

Starting a #music thread to share the music I've loved this year. Whether or not it was actually released this year.

I'm making a conscious choice to move away from 'best of' anything lists, but towards 'stuff I love'. Here goes:

I’ve been watching her videos for a while

Especially when I’m feeling cold (and it doesn’t really get that cold where I am)

I was watching a video about the cold in Yakutsk, and they said that their school snow days are only when the temp drops below…

Sorry this is me having Panera today for the first time and then immediately having to have a taco to wash it away

It’s truly amazing to me that Panera has made an empire out of sandwiches that I feel a child can make

Me: I don’t like cars

Also me: I love classic cars that don’t look at all like today’s cars

reposting this story about food and immigrants in the tenderloin (where I live): i know it very well.

it's basically little saigon on larkin, little lahore on hyde, and there's been a recent proliferation of excellent yemeni businesses as well and also possibly the largest density of mayan food outside of the mission. maybe even larger than the mission? there's a ton of yucatan and other mayan restaurants. even a honduran one.

Homelessness is a state of deprivation, but it also profoundly compromises your freedoms:
