Iβm a graphic and sometimes software designer in Kansas, USA, but I used to be a farmer and agronomist.

It now takes three different specialists to perform what Dr Watt would do out of a hole in the wall in Garnett KS in 1979 at 10x the cost.
And furthermore, dental and vision should be part of medical plans. Why are we carving out those two medical treatments that EVERYONE eventually needs? I get that it can drift into the cosmetic side of things, but JFC, medical plans pay for boner pills now.
Nothing, NOTHING is more gender-affirming and vainglorious than boner pills!

How is this a functioning medical care system? It is nuts that they can choose not to accepts a major plan like BCBS. Itβs like βno we donβt take credit cards. You must bring us unmarked bills in a briefcase and leave it next to a blue mailbox.β

Advertising may be the only solution. Maybe the Corporation for Public Broadcasting can be resurrected as the Foundation or Cooperative for Public Broadcasting as a fundraising arm that acts as an omnibus advertising agency that doles out distributions to the local stations.

I want NPR AND PBS to survive, especially in rural βMerica where I grew up. PBS for me as a child was a window into worlds foreign to me. Sesame Street, while targeted often at urban kids, showed me, a rural kid, what stoop life was; what a city transit train was. I had no idea. Trains carried grain and coal not people!
The rural stations that served me are really in danger. I donate to a smaller Kansas NPR station that I stream even though I live in KC metro.

I have been at this company for 10 years. In a small company, long-serving employees often take on tasks only tangentially related to their official roles. I have stepped in as an interim comms person because that job at my company is like the drummer for Spinal Tap.
I had to defend my actions today because I helped the current comms specialist send out a mass email. I have to massage a spreadsheet of new customers since the last time I did it by adding tags, formatting the columns, etc. Manual and time consuming because we donβt have an overarching ERP & CRM.
