I've been looking at my screen time, and I think I want to reduce it in favor of some more nourishing activities

Yeah, while it's not as bad as doomscrolling YouTube shorts, this is not quite what I had in mindβ¦
@aesthr@wandering.shop I like OsmAnd, which uses OSM. It works by having the maps offline, and in the free version you can have a certain number of maps downloaded (I paid for unlimited downloads, which is not too kuch and also has a lifetime option).
The data comes with a certain set of routes, which you do have to enable in the map layers to access them, and you can load a gpx file and navigate along that.
@aesthr@wandering.shop I personally use it for navigating when walking a predefined trail; when solo I just have earbuds in and TTS directions along with music, when with others I use it to just check the route (depending on how well the trail is marked).
Almost four hours (including a 25 minute break) for 19.4km? Not bad! And it included a perfect connection to the train back (which was pure coincidence because I only looked at departure times the moment I walked into the station).
More photos! (my first attempt at uploading was during the bit where the train goes through basically a ditch and you get no reception)
Once more in Lettele, for part 7 of the Marskramerpad. Deventer, here I come!

PSA: if you're on a railway crossing in a car and the gates come down because a train is coming, please just drive through the gate. You'll probably break it, you'll probably scratch your paint, and that's your fault for not noticing the warnings sooner (assuming they weren't defective), but that's a million times better than your vehicle getting hit by the train.
This is coming to after I saw a video of a van driver trying (and failing) to get off the tracks without driving through the barriers, and their truck ended up being hit by the train. Luckily nobody was injured.
As a reminder that I am from the previous century: I wanted to visualize the progress I am making on the Marskramerpad, so I took my atlas (52nd edition Grote Bosatlas), made a copy of the pages covering it (yes I have a scanner/printer that has a copy button) and started to draw the route by hand using fountain pen (a Lamy one that I got in Germany).
And here is the result so far! Next leg: Lettele (not on this map) to Deventer!

So, I guess I miscalculated the time I had by one hour, but in my favor: I made it on time for the second-to-last bus in 3 hours and 46 minutes
Quite happy with my time here! I like how at 14km you can see I figured out how I could just catch this bus if I walked faster. I preferred 4km of marching (which, at this tempo, was basically what it was) over an hour of waiting.
Half way through, and navigation tells me I might even make an earlier bus if I continue without break. I do need a break though, but at least it's good to have some buffer.
The view from this #pauzebankje is not as spectacular as in the first part of the route, but it could be way worse.
