to my understanding this is technically incorrect.
an algorithm can even be a static calculation method and does not necessarily require βwatchingβ me.
it could just be βfill most of the feed by whatever is posted right now by people the user follows in chronological order, but every 5th post display sprinkle a random post from at least 1h ago to max 10h agoβ
thatβs an algorithm.
for that matter, even βchronological orderβ is actually an algorithmβ¦

In computer science algorithm means almost anything on a computer, but most people don't use the word in that way. They usually use it to mean a feed that moves stuff around, hides stuff or pushes stuff in an opaque way.
