My inner track geek just had to hold everyone up to take this pic of a fun formation at Southern Cross station in Melbourne, in which some dual gauge (5’3”/4’8½”) track swaps common rail sides halfway through a turnout.

A photo of the railway track formation mentioned in the post, the station is shaded under an overall roof, but some sun is shining through onto the tracks, there are four tracks between two platforms with the closer of the two inner tracks being the dual gauge one where the interesting rail swap occurs.
