I think it's one of those things where people think they are choosing something, but when they're given a chance to properly try an alternative a lot of people do switch to the alternative.
Like... a lot of people eat junk food, but if they're given easy access to high quality tasty food a lot will switch.
It's easy to get stuck in a certain way if those are the only options available to you.
I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but I think it's worth trying 🙂

Some of us do both :)
I'm still on Metabook because family and real life friends are and they occasionally ask if I'm still alive :)
Still on Xitter because that's the way to read my preferred Independent News Sources ... and I'm hopeful of seeing a big fall :)
As for junk food ... don't like the taste and the Fish & Chip shop I used to use when grandies were children, is too far away now ...
When Mastodon first made an appearance a lot of people on Xitter announced they were leaving and registered here ... never seen their ID pop up though ... they went to Bluesky ... then back on Xitter :)
Oh yeah, I'm on there too ... haven't been back for months though ...
So it's Xitter for finding out what the government is doing, and here for the linked articles and chats :)
