Do you wonder how some people's posts are longer than 500 characters?
It's because they are on servers that have higher character limits for posts (or in some cases no limits at all). More info at:

The minimum limit should be 1000, because most posts never exceed 500 anyway, even when they can.
Most of the time, this avoids having to create a thread.
