It depends on whether B's server respects the blocking request.

I just did a test block between two accounts I have on two different Mastodon servers. Both the servers are well-run and respect block requests.

The block prevented me seeing any of the posts from the account that blocked me, so I couldn't respond to them.

However, if a server is running a different kind of software, or if it has been customised to not respect blocks, trolls may be able to respond.

If someone is deliberately evading block requests, you can ask your server admin to do a server-level block of the offending account (or server if it's helping them evade blocks) which will prevent anyone on your server seeing them.

You might also want to ask your server to switch on a feature called "authorized fetch / secure mode" which makes all kinds of blocks much more effective. There is info for admins on how to activate it at
