You can follow accounts, is there something going wrong when you try to do so? The channel is only if you want to see a specific sub-set of the videos from that account. Following the account shows all of its videos.

For example you should be able to follow my PeerTube account @fedivideo@fedi.video from Mastodon?

If you're seeing requests going unanswered that means something went wrong as PeerTube accounts do not use follow requests. Try unfollowing, waiting and then following again.

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services Unfollowing and following again worked for one account, still issues following a different account. I was trying to not be impolite with multiple requests, but this helps solve part of the mystery. Thanks!

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services Trying from a computer browser this time (instead of my app), it looks like the account I still have an issue with is on an older version of PeerTube, but it does show that I’m following when I check my Mastodon account via the browser. 🙃

We’ll see if I actually get the posts going forward, though.

Yeah, the older versions of PeerTube did have problems accepting follows from some people.

Newer versions of PeerTube seem to have fixed this as far as I know, but if the server is running on older PeerTube it may still cause "follow requests" to appear when followed from Mastodon.
