Hello all,

I have a friend who has been on mastodon.social for a while but is looking to become more active. I've suggested they move to a different instance, but now we are both wondering what instance would be a good one for them.

They say they are here for #Science and #Art ... they are a performer and performance-designer ...

Any suggestions? Are there any helpful sites for choosing an instance? I have my own, so I've not had this issue.

If you're comfortable, boosts would be welcome.

I run a site at https://fedi.garden which is designed to help people discover nice well-run instances 🙂

There's also the official list at https://joinmastodon.org/servers

The advantage of these two lists is that they require all instances to comply with certain requirements for moderation and technical reliability. Fedi.garden's requirements are at https://fedi.garden/about-this-site/ and JoinMastodon's are at https://joinmastodon.org/covenant
