My current 'Plus' plan on Vimeo is around £110 ($130) for a year with up to 200GB of storage/hosting. For some videos, I designate them as 'private' except for embedding on my site.

Could I achieve something similar with Peertube without having to worry about any of the technical side of things like hosting etc?

I wouldn't mind paying slightly more, but not multiples of what I currently have with Vimeo.

Yes, you can do unlisted videos (where you can share the link) and password-protected videos (where you can share the link & password).

If you want your own server without worrying about techy stuff, you can create a PeerTube server through managed hosting services such as
https://fedihost.co/hosting/peertube and https://cloud68.co/managed-hosting/peertube

Managed hosting means the hosting company does all the techy stuff too and it's included in the monthly fee.

Or you can join a server, see
