If you're using the official Mastodon mobile app, you might want to try using a third party app instead.

Third party apps tend to have more features than the official ones, and most people I know switch to third party apps after trying them. More info and lots of questions answered in the guide at:

Mastodon was designed to work through third party apps, and originally had no official apps at all.

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services I have never even seen the official mastodon app. I found one third party app for my phone, a different one for my Linux laptop, and another one for my kindle readers. For the Android phone and the readers, I used fdroid to find them. On Linux, I found a couple of options in my (Manjaro) repos. It makes sense to use the client that will work that is easiest to find on your particular platform.

It's just called "Mastodon", it's FOSS and some people have forked it to add features missing from the original (Moshidon is probably the most popular fork at the moment).

It's also in F-Droid which is pretty cool.
