Mastodon users, have you customised your notifications yet? There are many options for adjusting what you get notified about and how it happens.
If you're on the website interface or the official app go to π
Notifications and click on the icon in the top right corner to see notification options. (Third party apps have various interfaces.)
Website users should scroll the notifications option menu to see everything because it is huge!

I think that would depend on which app you're using? Some of the third party apps let you set different noises (one of them lets you have an elephant's call for example).
EDIT: Oh wait, for different events? I'm not sure, haven't seen an app do that yet but it's technically possible.
