I was running into a really weird awk behavior and fields weren’t showing up how I expected. Spent like an hour trying to figure it out.
It was line endings. I had copied some data from Excel and TextEdit “helpfully” kept the CRLF line endings. 🤦♂️
The worst part is, I have run into this before. But I had to relearn the lesson.
