Going to start? There's ample evidence that police have done so for as long as policing has existed -- I just expect that they'll ramp that protocol up. That's why traffic stop-and-searches exist, typically for Driving While Black.

With this having been said, the multi-agency nature of this dumbfuck dragnet is undoubtedly going to bite the administration right back, because this is not the job for which a lot of these people signed up, nor is it one for which many of those agents are suited. It's the old fungibility problem. Even if they were capable of performing the job in a competent manner, I'll estimate that many of them will be unwilling to do more than the barest minimum.

They're not the high-school dropouts rushing to ICE so that they can beat up on people who aren't lily-white: many of them are career agents, and while that still makes many or most of them supportive of fascism, I can't imagine that they're too happy about this type.
