So I was working on a project last might before I went to bed. I kept seeing movement out the corner of my eye.

About the time I was looking at the screen and kind wowed by the text on it seeming to float a bit, I was looking over and wondered if what I was seeing was this little monkey statue moving.

That’s when the sober part of my brain finally caught up and told me the ambien had kicked in and I should go to bed.

I've never been a drug user. I don't really drink any more, but always limited myself to one or two at a time.

I've had one experience with powerful pain meds, and I tried a pot gummy once in NYC. Turns out, with the gummy, I'm a lightweight lol

I've been taking ambien a bit to help me sleep, because it was getting bad. I hadn't taken in a few nights, but the previous night had been rough, sleep wise, so I took one last night.

In my admittedly limited experience with drugs of any sort I've noticed something...

There is still a part of my mind that is stone sober. That part recognizes that the text is not, in fact, moving. And the statue of a monkey is not moving, either.

However, that part is a Grandpa, and the main part of my brain is a bunch of grandkids. They're running away doing all sorts of crap, and Gramps finally wanders up and says, "no no, that's not right." But it takes him a minute to get there.
