@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space Thins is, I bet if she was addressed "incorrectly" as Ms or whatever, and not "The Honourable" (which is a joke) she would be deeply upset. She can insist on her title being correct, but wants to deny others.

Exactly. And let us consider a Public School with a Physics Master who has a PhD and who insists on being called Dr, and considers it highly inappropriate to be addressed as Mr? Should he be denied his request?
Personally I think not even if I would rather teachers adopt a more informal approach.
