I watched some interview w Marc Maron (not my thing but heโs using his position in some interesting ways) and was realizing that I think a lot of current discourse would be helped by an understanding of Walter Benjaminโs idea of โaestheticization of politicsโ as a crucial component of fascist power

Like, what gets called โculture war,โ once itโs sufficiently advanced, I think inherently becomes aestheticization of politics on a mass scale. itโs what lets morons like Joe Rogan become politically influential - inextricable from spectacular entertainment.
