I watched some interview w Marc Maron (not my thing but heโ€™s using his position in some interesting ways) and was realizing that I think a lot of current discourse would be helped by an understanding of Walter Benjaminโ€™s idea of โ€œaestheticization of politicsโ€ as a crucial component of fascist power

Like, what gets called โ€œculture war,โ€ once itโ€™s sufficiently advanced, I think inherently becomes aestheticization of politics on a mass scale. itโ€™s what lets morons like Joe Rogan become politically influential - inextricable from spectacular entertainment.
