No wait not even a day, a few hours
@tea@fedi.catboy.agency
3 hours is 1080 attempts
the likelihood of not having it after 1080 attempts is
(1-0.00005)^{1080} \approx 0.9474
which means that the likelihood of having it after three hours is more than 5% and thus while not common would not typically be considered an uncommon event in most probability
@deilann@tech.lgbt You know when you put it like that...
@deilann@tech.lgbt Also this math is going right over my head
I am far too dyscalculaic for this
@tea@fedi.catboy.agency probability is fucky FWIW the chance of having it after a full day is still only 35%
@deilann@tech.lgbt There was a time when I wasn't complete garbage at probability math, but back then I was in school and actively practiced having to do math.
Not being in school combined with my brain not doing numbers well means that these days working out any of this stuff on my own would be practically impossible.
@tea@fedi.catboy.agency a full week, and you have more than a 95% chance of getting it which would then make not having it considered "unusual"
@tea@fedi.catboy.agency ofc, i do believe the client needs be running for this to be checked

@deilann@tech.lgbt Out of curiosity I checked the collective account and it apparently took us 4 days to get it on there, which considering we tend to just leave the client open a lot while we are doing other things is surprising.
