Research shows kissing is a learned, not evolutionary, behavior.
They think mothers chewing food for pre-teething infants evolved into a cultural practice of how to show affection.
The More You Know

@JoscelynTransient@chaosfem.tw
@VictimOfSimony@infosec.exchange @hi_cial@donphan.social Yes! Kissing is actually only practiced as part of sexual behavior and romantic intimacy in like 46% of cultures, or something like that. I might have the stat slightly wrong, but literally just read about this a few weeks ago in my human sexuality class.
In other news: apparently arm pits are physiologically a "primary erogenous zone" alongside lips, genitals, and nipples. Another thing that is clearly culturally shaped since I have never considered having sexy experiences with armpits. 😅![]()
