Wow - I used the #WritingCommunity hashtag on a poem and got bombarded with fake “bestselling authors” wanting to quiz me about my work and profits. I could feel them winding up for the sales pitch - high-dollar marketing and rebranding that promises the moon and delivers nothing - so started blocking. Blocked one and got messaged by a related account. And BTW, it’s offensive to comment with sales pitches on someone’s creative writing post.
WTF, guys? What do y’all real writers think? Disappointed to see this in the Fediverse, but I guess it’s inevitable…

I see a lot of "successful authors" trying to sell stuff to authors instead of readers.
If they knew how to do what they claim they can do, they'd not be wasting time faffing about with it.
