@leanlearnlead@mstdn.ca General Artificial Intelligence is just that - artificial. Nothing to do with common sense.
It seems apparent to me that the #OpenAI developers are trying to use upfront RAG systems to create "guardrails" against unwise use...which is akin to using a sieve to stop water flowing through a coffee filter.
Its not going to work.
Turns out stochastic parrots aren't useful at anything that needs...accuracy.
So far, the only use cases I've seen that are possibly useful for #genAI are:
- non-critical translation
- non-critical writing
- creating a front end to a proprietary knowledge base (Thomson Reuters and Toyota are leading in this area)
Notice I left coding off the list. That was on purpose.
