Following the #realestate market through the Financial Post, is basically seeing TREB cheerlead about sales and growth.

Yeah, #genAI is working great...

It seems apparent to me that the #OpenAI developers are trying to use upfront RAG systems to create "guardrails" against unwise use...which is akin to using a sieve to stop water flowing through a coffee filter.
Its not going to work.
Turns out stochastic parrots aren't useful at anything that needs...accuracy.
So far, the only use cases I've seen that are possibly useful for #genAI are:
- non-critical translation
- non-critical writing
- creating a front end to a proprietary knowledge base (Thomson Reuters and Toyota are leading in this area)
Notice I left coding off the list. That was on purpose.

Hey look, I made a #systems thinking thing!
With all credit to Donella Meadows, "Thinking In Systems".
It was humbling to see how much of it I've learned and have been practicing. And always more to practice...

2 weeks ago we hit the beach, and my youngest was fascinated with the sandstone pebbles, trying to carve them into each other, to no avail.
Later that week, we took a trip to Lee Valley and bought a block of soapstone. Between a rasp, 80, 220, and 400 grit sand paper, followed by an olive oil dip and buff, my youngest crafted this masterpiece.
Now they won't let go of it, and I'm proud of what they're learning and trying. Add #carving to crochet, painting, and drawing to their amazing skills!
If you've never carved stone before, #soapstone is easy to work with ordinary wood tools. Watch for the dust (it is talc, and may have other minerals in it), and enjoy!
I love how radical Barbapapa is.
