the reason we get to keep doing crazy shit at hacker events is because behind all the jokey faΓ§ade of danger there's someone who unwaveringly gives a shit about the safety of people around them and does things right.

Safety is habits.

You
always have a safety cable. And you always use it. No exceptions. Ever.

Once you start making exceptions, you find other edge cases and make more and suddenly someone gets hurt, because you lost the habit of always doing it right.
