@Mrfunkedude@mastodon.social Tried Matrix for a while for a specific foss support forum. All the clients I tried were flakey as hell.
I'm on discord for only three things.
* A friend has one for discussing lego and vinyl records and such with a handful of people.
* Another group of people use it just for voice during our d&d game (as the voice chat feature of the virtual table tops involved really suck ass). We have tried Zoom and FaceTime as well but discord voice is what we landed on for whatever reason.
* The last is a photography forum I check into now and then, with digital, film, and experimental physical artefacts creators.
For non-voice things, Discord is okay-ish. Like any chat type thing it is absolutely horrible for finding things long-term. An actual forum site would be better.
