If I have to buy another car, the telemetry cables are getting a quick notch filter to block out everything but the GPS frequency. Zero telemetry and I'll do all the servicing myself (I know good dealer mechanics are getting very difficult to find these days)

And I will be auditing any other radio and possible visible light telemetry from the car too. Is the taillight PWM coded to send or receive if the LEDs are biased into photodiode mode? Easily done in hardware cheap by the manufacturer for tracking by the Flock camera network and can't be too sure these days. Not if, but when, if not already...

You don't own a Cybertruck, Elon owns it, and anything you do with it.

@Lazarou@mastodon.social I heard the same thing about Apple last week -- that if they cancel your Apple ID, all of your Apple devices that are associated with it are garbage -- no updates, no software downloads from the App Store, no ability to find devices or lock/disable stolen devices, no access to your data in iCloud, etc.

And Apple is the only arbiter of their Terms of Service, there is nobody to appeal to.

I've had Macs for 30+ years... (First one was a Mac 512k in the 80's.). This has me considering open hardware and an OS change to one of the BSD's.

@paulpalinkas@mastodon.social @Lazarou@mastodon.social Here's an old one... https://old.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/r8b1lu/apple_will_permanently_disable_your_account_for/

It sounds like the guy only got his account unlocked because he spent several hours hounding them by phone, eMailed Tim Cook, posted on social media, etc.
