At the #FreeDC news conference a group of white protestors came with bullhorns to do their Trump message. And despite the fact we were holding a news conference, starting chanting with their bull horns about Trump instead of supporting our message. Yesterday, these "allies" were asked NOT to disrupt, and yet they did. The problem with some allies is that they cannot respect Black leadership. Don't be that kind of "ally."

@fulanigirl@mstdn.social This sure is getting old, ain't it? Reminded of the Bernie Sanders rally in Seattle that pitted disabled supporters against BLM supporters because they were a) disorganized, and b) apparently unaware of disabled Black people.

@YakyuNightOwl@mastodon.world it is very very old....all the way back to how white abolitionist joined that movement. You can't really be an "ally" if you don't respect the intelligence and humanity of people who are not white. This is why we are in this mess to begin with.🙄
